American Dsi in the Uk?

Hi, I got a pink dsi for xmas which was from ebay and is American. I also got some dsi/wii points from my uncle but when i tried to put them on it said they were for the wrong region (I had to select USA since there was no UK) but I read online to change the country to Brazil but that didn't work… any help? PLEASE!?

All I can think of is to try registering your DSI on the UK site. If successful this should make the UK site the default site for your account.
