This news was released during an interview withvideo game reviews site, IGN, with Lars Bakken. Drakken, a member of the Bungie team, said this: “After Reach that’s it for us. We’re already working on a new project that we can’t talk about yet.”
Absolutely nothing is given away about the new title that is currently in the works. However, Bungie ahven’t always been developing first person shooters, before they developed Halo, they had created third person games as well as a range of RTS games. Because of this, we have simply no idea what game we will get out of Bungie next.
What we do know is that many people will miss Bungies contribution to the Halo franchise. With the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, back in 2001, the Halo franchise, as well as Bungie, went from strength to strength. Followed closely came the release of Halo 2 and Halo 3 which both brought in huge numbers of sales. Both upcoming titles, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach are currently being developed by Bungie. September 2009 is when Halo 3: ODST is currentl set for, whereas Reach is planned for released in the latr part of 2010. Obviously, being so far away, Halo: Reach has not yet got a confirmed release date, or even month, simply a season.
Don’t be too worried though Halo fans, any future games that may be developed are being handed over to the recently announced Microsoft 343 industries. Whether any games developed by them will manage the same top notchgame reviews is unknown, it’s just a case of waiting and watching for now.
Lets just hope that they don’t send the franchie into any strange new direction that might ruin the game. It would be a terrible shame if that happened as the Halo reputation would be ruined.
