Prevent and Cure Your Xbox 360 Two Light Error

I remember the very first time that I received the 2 light error from my Xbox 360 console. I was devastated; I thought that I would have to pay hundreds of dollars to fix my console. My console was also out of warranty at the time so that would mean that I would have to repair my console with my own money. The two light error is caused by your console system overheating, this can be caused by many things so I will now explain to you what could be causing this error so that you can fix the problem right away. First of all I would advise you to check if your Xbox 360 fans are still functioning, without these fans your system will create an amazing amount of heat which will prevent your system from working. If the fans on your console are working correctly then I would advise you to check that your console is getting the right amount of air flow. If your console does not receive the right amount of airflow then this can cause problems for you and your console. I would advise you to check that the console is receiving sufficient airflow and if possible to put your console on a hard surface such as a wooden floor, tiled floor or even a computer desk. Do not put your console inside a cabinet because this would restrict the airflow.

If the above did not fix your console then it is more than likely that an internal component is broken. Do not worry this is not as bad as it sounds and usually something inside your console called x-clamps are damaged. These x-clamps usually fall off with overheating and to fix the problem we usually just have to screw them back on.

To fix the above problem you can either send your console off the Microsoft and wait six weeks for them to be repaired, however if your console is not in warranty then you would be expected to pay up to $200 to get this problem fixed.
