This is one of the easiest games to learn, but there’s a challenging level of depth that pulls you in once you get to learn how to play. Its universal appeal is part of what makes the game so great.
Mario Kart Wii is a truly special game. It takes a classic format that achieved great success on the N64 and the Super Nintendo, and transposes it to the Wii, taking full advantage of the motion sensing controls.
Using a wireless wheel, you can literally steer your cart as you would with any regular cart. The challenges are limitless and the accuracy is downright scary.
The boards are fast paced and the tracks are extremely competitive and fun. Perhaps my favorite thing about the game is the online play mode. I find myself playing online more often than any other way, as the game can be a bit less challenging once you beat it.
This allows you to race against up to 11 other racers from all around the world, playing against them and earning points as you win, or losing them as you lose. As you could imagine, the pace is fast and the competition is fierce. I’m also a big fan of the ranking system.
The ranking system is great in the sense that it really lets you know how good you are compared to other people out there. This feeds right into my competitive spirit and makes things a lot of fun.
I’ve talked enough about the game. You can see that I absolutely love it, and there’s no doubt in my mind that you will too.
