Can Nintendo Wii Games Bought from Amazon Be Played on a Pal Console and Tv?

I have bought PS2 games without realizing that the games need to match the TV system of my country. Is this also the case with Wii games

Suggestion:

All video game manufactures region lock their games. The world is essentially divided into three regions Japan, Europe, and America. Your system and games have to be from the same area. There is a freeloader disc available for the wii to get around it but most likely it will no longer work when Nintendo updates their firmware.

It seems that just like DVDs and PS2 games, Wii games are released in both PAL and NTSC versions:

Your safest bet, if you're in europe or australia, is to purchase PAL versions of your games locally or at amazon.co.uk. If you're waiting on release dates or games unreleased in europe, software updates to the Wii prevent tricks from playing one standard on the other, so your only option would be to acquire an NTSC Wii and TV which COULD be difficult in europe, but I couldn't say.

DVD region codes and PAL/NTSC differences can be frustrating, but there isn't much that can be done other then work around them (tricky, sometimes impossible or legally questionable) or play the waiting game (just as frustrating)

hope this helps!

Yes. Make note of if it is NTSC or PAL
