Do You Need a Special Controller to Play Virtual Console Games from the Wii Shop?

hi, i want to buy kirby64: the crystal shards, and was wondering if i needed a game cube controller or one of the white flat ones.

PS if anyone knows alot about Super Smash Brothers Brawl, i would appreciate it if you could answer my last question because i am still stuck and need help.

Suggestion:

For more advanced consoles, such as the SNES and the N64 (which is the console kirby 64 runs on) you need the classiic or gamecube controller (you can use either). for basice consoles like thhe NES, however, you only need the wii remote.
