How Do Wii Pal Games Work on a Wii Ntsc Console?

Some people say I need to download something on a SD card and insert the card into the console. What is it? Where and how can I download the thing and use it?

I guess thats the basic definition. You would need to softmod your Wii in order to play out of region games on it

PAL games are region locked to PAL Wii's. NTSC Wii will not be able to play PAL games and vice versa unless the NTSC Wii is hard or soft modded (Soft modding = homebrew, hard modding = chip placement added into the Wii's hardware/software)

Also, that would be soft modding what you have described. Soft modding your Wii will allow you to play the PAL games, but for that price, your Wii's warranty will be voided, the Wii's Code of Conduct will be broken and Nintendo can refuse to service your Wii if it is in need of a repair.
