Where Can I Take My Wii Console to Be Fixed, or Can I Fix It Myself?
Was playing a game the other day and it started skipping and wouldn't stop. Ejected the game and tried to re-insert game into Wii. When I tried this, it appeared that the console was clamping onto the game c.d. too early, and about a tenth of the game remains outside of the console. So the games are now going in most of the way, but not all of the way as a small portion of the game remains exposed on the outside of the console.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Or are there any national stores or repair places I could take it? I also wonder how much this might cost. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
Suggestion:

I would just take it to a gamestop or some other gaming store and see if they could fix it.
Ah, mine did that. The disc tray is misaligned. I had to open it up after ordering the triwing screwdriver for the beastie. (It's cheap on Amazon) Whatever you do, DO NOT SEND IT TO NINTENDO- It's over priced, takes forever and this is a simple fix.
I had to remove the game from the tray, insert it from behind the tray (which is open, and once you detach the clamp, easy.) Then I hit eject once plugged in (While still opened because the first try does not always succeed) and that fixed the tray's misalignment.
These helped me a lot to open the Wii up and get into the tray. Good luck with it!
