Suggestion:
Wii – Great for family/party oriented gaming. Most fun with others next to you.
Pros: Good family fun, motion sensing controllers, many good applications available (weather, news, web browser, etc), free online access, enjoyable Wii exclusive games, all around cheaper.
Cons: 720p resolution (not full HD), difficult to connect to friends, less bang for buck.
More info: Wii is meant for younger, or more casual players. This means that the majority of games are either rated E or T. Although the quality isn't reduced by the lower rating, you tend to get more bored because you don't get as big of an in depth feeling like you get with M rated games.
360 – great for hardcore, as well as casual, gaming. Most fun with others you connect to through Xbox Live.
Pros: Good for playing with friends, upcoming Kinect (google it, it's awesome), amazing downloadable content (such as add-on's for games you own, or complete "arcade games" which not only includes retro games, but also new HD mini games), 1080p resolution (full HD), amazing 360 exclusive games, more bang for buck.
Cons: $50/yr for online access (worth it), all around slightly more expensive.
More info: Xbox is meant for mid to late teens and beyond. This means that the majority of games are rated M. Although quality isn't increased by the higher ratings, the M rating tends to open a more appealing "real like" game play. Just because it's M doesn't mean it's as bad as Grand Theft Auto. Many of the M games should be rated T+15 for teens15 or older (but that doesn't exist).

It comes with all the extra components that used to need separate purchasing. It saves you close to $150 as opposed to if you were to buy the original 360.

Xbox 360 WHy? better games,better online,kinect better than wii,more stuff to do and hd games.
and i suggest picking up the xbox 360 slim i had 2 xbox's but still had to get it.
Depends xbox has good games such as halo, gears of war, CoD and wii has Mario and CoD too
my cousin got tired of his wii in about 8 months, i'm still having fun with my xbox after 3 years.
It depends what you want, if you want an interactive family console buy a Nintendo Wii. But if you're a hardcore gamer, Call of Duty, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Halo 3/ODST/REACH(when it comes out). Buy an XBOX 360. But the XBOX can also be a family console, if you buy the correct games. Like Kinect which has all the fun and family-type games as the wii but better. So if you're willing to wait until November when Kinect comes out buy an XBOX 360. Also I'd recommend the latest XBOX, the XBOX 360 Slim. Which is brilliant. Also Call of Duty Black-Ops will be exclusivly on XBOX for 6 months-or-so, so hardcore gamers would prefer this aswell. Also personally I prefer the XBOX and I've got both consoles on internet so I can fairly conclude that the XBOX 360 is better than the Nintendo Wii. However, if you will not be able to get XBOX LIVE for the XBOX, do not buy it. Because it is only good on XBOX LIVE not without internet. So if you could connect it to the internet, buy an XBOX 360. If you can't get XBOX LIVE buy a Nintendo Wii.
Wii is more aimed towards casual gamers and family oriented type games (think Mario, etc.)
Xbox 360 and it´s competitor the PS3 are more geared towards the bloodthirsty M-rated crowd (indeed most Xbox 360 and PS3 games are rated M). That is not to say there aren´t T rated games on Xbox 360/PS3, and M rated games on Wii…
…There are some M rated games on Wii but generally if it´s action, violence, and eye candy you want, Wii will leave you wanting, just as PS3/Xbox 360 will leave you wanting if you´re looking for more family oriented type games.
