PS3 – best overall for doing multiple things if you want a console that will connect and stream from your computer media server, work as a blu ray player (with full 3d not the crappy side by side some use) as well as games this is your system you can upgrade the HDD to whatever size you want provided it is a 2.5" Sata without voiding the warranty, with this system I would have to say it is pretty solid in my experience I never had mine break or give me a problem it is an amazing piece of hardware ( now I know fanboy ragers my yell at me but hold your pants there are drawbacks aswell one being I find the only games I really get for it are the exclusives this may be personal preference which I will explain later, the online play is lacking compared to Xbox and doesn't seem like the same social experience you can send voice messages however you may be able to console yourself with setting your own background overall this is the best "do everything" system
The Xbox well where to begin the Xbox is amazing one unlike me PS3 I have gone through many Xbox's though. The best thing to do is not buy a old version, my new slim version i have had since it released and never had a problem hope that saves you the headache of motherboard and video card issues of the elite and pro Xbox 360's. The ache enemy system on the Xbox is better than the PS3 trophy system and seems to be more competitive. You also should know online comradery is higher on the Xbox but you will also never find a place with more trash talkers and people mad because you "cheated" or there system froze. The games in general feel better online for the Xbox 360 the ps3 has better exclusive games but if it is a multiplayer game your looking for I suggest the Xbox you also have online messaging and can leave voicemails for friends unlike the ps3 it does cost to play online you will pay $60/ year for gold service or $6 – $7 /mo for the service on Minh to month but both the Xbox and ps3 give you access to apps like Netflix the Xbox has the kinect but is still limited on games that are impressive for it do far there are a lot of hopeful good games to come the ps3 has the playstation move which has more accurate tracking but again not a huge library of games for that peripheral although for shooters I would recommend the move
Last is the wii it was the first to develop moving technology but probably not he best it will not work as a DVD player but this little box is sturdy it does however have a HUGE lack of third party games so if you love Mario party than that is awesome but I honestly spent $300 when this came out for the system and Zelda and few other games were worth buying this system is best for kids and families or playing he new Zelda's when they come out but if you want action and good graphics this system is NOT for you as it does not even run through HDMI
Bottom line ps3 is most round about system with a blu ray
Xbox is best online (with gold)
Wii is good for families

This question has been asked like 55 million times. Just search for the answer. Ps3 wins. I love when people tell me xbox has more exclusives. I can only think of gears, halo, forza. Ps3 has infamous, uncharted, littlebigplanet,.killzone, socom, resistance, god of war, gran turismo, etc. sony has AMAZING first party support.

PS3 gets hacked every 5 secs, Xbox 360 has an awesome Online service and games, and Wii is at the end of it's lifespan. So get an Xbox 360 or wait till the WiiU comes out
Ps3 has better tech, but less games
Wii WAS orginal and fun, but kinect blew it out of the water.
360 has the best games (IMO), and the kinect. kinect is by far the most fun movement sensor compared to wii and move.
I hate my Wii. Can't wait to get a ps3, I've always had play stations and like that controller over the xbox. Plus psn is free.
The Wii despises DLC's so that is a HUGE plus for me. When I play a game I want the entire experience, not downloading it little by little at 10 or 20 dollars every 2 months.
