Convince them by saying I`l do extra chores etc. be nice to them, do what they say. When you have your parents trust and when there in a good mood ask them. I mean your the one paying any. It should work.

so if you and your bro is paying, why wont you're parents let you get it?
if they are not paying at all for it why ask them? it's your cash you can buy what ever the hell you want with it
Just say this is the only thing you want this year, and you are willing to help out with anything so you can get it. You can also say if your grades fall, your parents can take it (if your parents care enough). Say it will keep you busy and out of trouble. A PS3 is only $250 so that's good, I suggest you buy that Uncharted 3+PS3 bundle for $300 though. Good luck bro!
