Suggestion:
Well, to play dvds you will need an app called MPlayer CE from this website: http://code.google.com/p/mplayer-ce/downloads/detail?name=mplayer_r592.zip&can=2&q= make a folder on the root of your sd card called "apps" (without the quotes) and put the folder "mplayer-ce" to the "apps" folder of your sd card. Go into the Homebrew Channel and load the Mplayer CE app. Put in the movie, and press on "play" it will bypass all menus so it will begin playing the movie for you.

I'm not a Wii Hacking expert or anything like that but I would suggest going to the homebrew channel and looking for something called "Neogamma" or anything that says loader. That is one way I know you can play games.
