Suggestion:
you DON'T NEED to chip it – you can softmod it (modify the software) and be able to play games from other regions, even PAL, NTSC, and NTSC-J.
Go to http://wiihacks.com and look up some tutorials on how to softmod your wii. You'll need to know which system you have – so go to the Wii settings menu and look in the top right corner – it should say something like 3.2, 4.2U, etc etc. Then use that information to find the right tutorial for you.
within a couple of hours – you'll have your Wii softmoded and you'll be able to play games from the UK on your Singapore Wii.
I bought my wii in the States, moved to China, softmoded my Wii and now I can play UK and Japanese games on my American Wii.
