So i cant use the wii with a controller not doing anything. Please could someone help me?
Suggestion:
open the remote and you will find a red button
in the wii there is a little door under the power and the reset button open the little door and you will find a red button
Press the red button in the wii and the remote (with the console on)at the same time for a few seconds.

Sounds like you need to 'resync' you wiimote. To do this you must first open up the battery holder in the wiimote, and the sd card slot on the wii. There are red buttons on both. With the wii on, (preferably on the wii menu) hold both red buttons till it works. If this does not work then maybe your batteries are dead.
most likely your batteries are dead. Just open up the back part of the remote, take the batteries out, and put in two double a batteries. Make sure you match up the positive and negative signs.
You are probably using the 2nd wii remote so you have to open the wii case and press the red button and open the wii remote and press the red button so it will synce together.
