Why Isn't My Nintendo Wii Turning On?

My Wii has not been working for at least 2 weeks, the red light is not turning on and I think this happened due to a storm, or on the other hand once I tried to plug in my Wii and I heard a small Blast noise (I guess). Please help, I tried resting the AC adapter and later plugging it on and it still did not work.

Suggestion:

worst case scenario, you fried your Wii. let's run through all the other options I can think of first though. have you tried plugging it into a different outlet? have you tried plugging something else into the one it's currently plugged into? if it is plugged into a power strip, did the breaker switch flip either during the storm or when you plugged it in and it blasted?
