#10-Clover is an adventure game with a political theme and if you are looking for a change, this is it. The graphics are somewhat in line with SouthPark, but don’t let its innocent façade fool you. This game employs some pretty dark and deeply thoughtful themes that are not a part of most of the popular games in gaming communities.
#9-World Revolution is an amazing combination of Google Earth and Missile Command. This grandly updated version of an old favorite will draw you in, keep you in its thrall and only let you loose when blisters form on your thumbs.
#8-Weapon of Choice is the ultimate shooter game. Seven different characters with a plethora of unique weapons, tons of insane bosses and the added surprise of various endings, this game will not even approach a mark on the ‘boredom’ index. This one is considered the premier shooter game in the community section.
#7-Blow is somewhat like the old classic, The Incredible Machine, except that you are dealing with winds, hot and cold air, fans and a multitude of bubbles. The challenge never lessens as you work your way through each physics-based puzzling level. Requiring more than the average brain power the hand crafted boards are not a breeze to fly through. But…if you manage to do so, there is a game mode that just creates more.
#6-Johnny Platform’s Biscuit Romp is the simple game with the funny name that was originally designed for Nintendo DS. The levels are incredibly and artfully designed, sometimes forcing you to pause to raid the cookie jar before resuming play. This is the low-fi game that has amazingly captured gamers’ hearts and thumbs.
#5-Zoomaroom runs on a decidedly refined physics-based platform with numerous power-up options that can make the play even more complex. With over 60 levels and tons of tools you won’t find yourself delegating this game to the nether world. If you happen to get the least bit bored, you can create your own levels with the ‘level-editor’ or download some from your online friends. How cool is that?
#4-Orbyx Mystic Orbs of Chaos uses Peggles’ unique formula, but adds plenty of magic and certain individualized differences to make it so much more than a fraternal twin. If you’ve never played Peggle, Orbyx can build those skills necessary to become a Peggle master; if you have played Peggle, but are giving it a break, Orbyx may introduce something new that will get your Peggle motor running again.
#3-Carneyvale Showtime is designed on a vertical platform that changes the play drastically from what you are used to. Rather than controlling the character, you are controlling the platforms, or grabbers, a truly unique concept that makes all the difference. You can count on this idea to be copied by other developers as it adds a whole new twist to the genre. Anyone of any age can play this visually appealing and viscerally exciting game that has upped the ‘fun quotient’ to a whole new level.
#2-Trino is a game that is kind of hard to classify. Not a shooting game, nor is it a puzzle game, but something else entirely. The gist of the game is that you are entrapping your enemy by generating triangular traps by laying down angle-points independently. Sound hard? Yep, this one is a challenge to get the hang of and requires your best forward thinking abilities in order to activate your traps at the perfect time to trap as many enemies as possible. The design is incredibly fresh and the graphics are truly enjoyable, as are the options to advance your game play.
NUMBER ONE-drum roll please….rat-tat-tat-ta-tat-tat-tat….
Miner Dig Deep is still the number one pick! You dig and mine your own minerals and sell them for video game cash. Though seeming to be just a simple platform, it must be the combination of platforms that draws you in and makes you want to play over and over and…again. According to XNA, you cannot go wrong when you pick this game up for a measly 200 points on the Xbox Gaming Community.
Sammi likes playing video games, but what she really loves is gardening. Her favorite gardening website is Garden Harvest Supply. They have many herb plants for sale along with a large variety of annual and perennial plants!
