Tauren
A Tauren is usually seen as the one to pick if you are making a tank. With this race you get 5% extra health and 2% chance to not be hit by nature spells. If Tanking is your only concern then these aren’t the worst combination of racials you could choose. For those who will also pvp, the warstomp is a nice extra stun to have.
Blood Elf
The Blood Elf does not have many racials that a DK benefits from. The 2% reduction to spells isn’t bad and you also get a nice silence. However, these really aren’t going to do much for you and the silence only works for pvp and don’t benefit you otherwise.
Troll
The Troll is honestly not a bad choice. There are a few racials it comes with that wont do anything for you but it does come with more than a single useful ability. They have a passive 15% reduced duration to slowing effects. There is also an excellent ability that gives you 20% increase in attack speed for 10 seconds. Not to mention the 5% increased damage to beasts. They are full of good bonus abilities that will go great in both pve and pvp situations.
Orc
The Orc is definitely a top choice among all the races for the Death Knight. They have a resistance to stun effects, a 15 second increase to attack power on a 3 min cooldown, a 5% increase to pet damage, and a bonus to expertise to 1h and 2h axes. All of these are great abilities for both pve and pvp. This is a well-rounded race for DKs, you won’t go wrong choosing an orc.
Undead
An Undead is about midway in comparison to the rest of the races. The 2% resist to shadow damage is probably the best of all the resists the other races get, and you also get will of the forsaken, but with the recent changes to that ability it has made undead less attractive for pvp. You also get Cannibalize, an ability to feast on corpses to heal yourself. All in all, its not the worst choice for DK but there are better.
If I had to make my personal call it would be the Orc for both pve and pvp. They have a lot of extra abilities for damage and passive stun resistance that is very welcome in pvp. You wont go wrong with an Orc!
