Now although mining is a great profession to have to sell mats (as there is always a strong demand for them on the auction house) it isn’t for everyone. Mining is time consuming and you can’t just sit in a city and craft items and make gold, you have to go out and farm it. Mining is a farm for gold profession and it’s really not for everyone.
If you have a profession like jewelcrafting you might be wondering if you need mining or maybe you think that you absolutely need mining to get the mats to make items or cut gems. I can tell you from personal experience that you don’t need mining to level up your jewelcrafting. In fact if you don’t use mining and instead buy all of your mats on the auction house you will save a lot of time. Yes, you will have to spend some gold but it isn’t necessary to spend time farming.
So in conclusion, while I like mining, I realize and know from experience that it isn’t really necessary to train and level up in order to do crafting professions like jewelcrafting. You can successfully and without much trouble, level up your jewelcrafting with nothing more than a bit of gold and jewelcrafting itself.
