Enigmata 2 – Flash Game Review

Enigmata 2 is a typical space fighter game in which you take control of various impressive fighter spacecrafts and destroy the hordes of oncoming enemies. However, more care and thought has gone into Enigmata 2 making it a cut above the rest.

Firstly, the graphics are sharp and polished, which is always a benefit. Also, the controls are much more free flowing, the movement is more agile and with the ability to turn with the mouse makes it much more easier to familiarize with. However, that is not all…

…Many games offer upgrades to aid you for difficult levels. But none have such an extensive and impressive range as Enigma 2. There are shops, skills and missiles that can be bought in separate sections, each offering a vast range. Also, more skilled upgrade shops can be unlocked when you earn achievement points, which made me determined to go as far as I could during the missions, and earn as much gold as possible along the way. When you buy an upgrade you simply drag and drop it along the skills panel, each skill your current spacecraft has is assigned a number, when you press that number the corresponding skill will appear. This is by far the most addictive feature of the game, especially the curiosity as to what there is to be bought in the advanced sections of the shops.

The game itself is extremely fast paced from the word go. There is a brief tutorial but there should not be anything new, except from how to use your skills. Immediately after this you are barraged by oncoming enemies, the movement of your spacecraft is quick and very agile allowing you to maneuver around them, however you are bound to get hit frequently. Thankfully there is a healing skill for this. The one downside to it comes from the repetitiveness of the levels. Although they get noticeably harder, and you do eventually get amazing new skills and other features, each level simply comprises of you holding down the left mouse button and zigzag-ing across the screen.

That being said, Enigma 2 easily outclasses many rival games of the same genre, from the range of unlockables and customizes available, to the crispness of the graphics and smooth movement of the fast moving spacecraft. Altogether it can provide many hours of enjoyment and is a must for gamers who enjoy hi-tech machine games.
