Of all the classes in World of Warcraft leveling a druid to level 20 is one of the hardest. It’s not because it’s difficult but rather boring as the druid just doesn’t have the tools needed to level quickly during the early stages of the game.
For the first few levels of the game everything is smooth as you do your starter quests. After these you will realize that you are a weak caster without many abilities who ends up spending their mana then hitting enemies with a weapon that is not as good as a wand in terms of damage per second.
At level 10 after you do your quest, you get bear form. You would think that this would be the moment you finally can do some damage. You will find out that bear form can outlast just about anything, but you just don’t have very many abilities to do any substantive damage. If you switch between caster and bear form too much, you will be out of mana very fast. Going from level 10 to 20 are painful.
How do you level a druid to level 20?
Fighting Tips
Open with Wrath then hit with a Moonfire followed by as many wraths as you can. If they are close to dead or are hitting you, just use your weapon as Moonfire ticks away their life. If you get two one you, remember to root one of them and step back a bit. If you need to regenerate mana, you can drink but one way is to switch to bear form and slowly fight a few mobs and your mana will be back. Caster form will be faster than bear form.
Talent Points
Consider spending them to reduce the cast time of wrath in the balance tree on Starlight’s Wrath or spend them in the restoration tree on Nature’s Focus. Most are going to be feral by level 20 since you get cat form. But nothing in the beginning parts of the feral tree are really going to help your bear form do much better.
Focus on quests.
Questing will be the only thing that will keep you sane during the leveling process of a druid as grinding out mobs. If you don’t know the quests that well, consider getting a questing addon that can help direct you to quests that have the most experience for the least effort.
Once you get to level 20 things become much better with cat form. Spend your points in the feral tree and don’t look back.
