Although Warriors happen to be great tanks they’re not limited to just tanking. In fact their wide selection of armor and weapons makes them particularly good at Melee DPS. Warriors actually have a larger selection of armor and weapons than any other class.

Let’s start out in the WoW Warrior guide by looking at some of their strengths.
- Selection of Armor & Weapons: Warriors can wear pretty much any kind of armor including plate armor at level 40. Other than wands they can have just about any weapon. They can dual wield at level 20.
- High Hit Points
- DPS to Tank: Warriors can switch mid combat from DPS to Tanking.
Below are some of the challenges you’ll run into and some weaknesses.
- Gear Dependent: Warriors are really gear dependent, meaning to be effective you’ll need to have the right gear.
- Threat Reducing: They don’t have any real means of reducing threat
- Healing: They don’t have healing abilities
Three unique stances define the abilities of the Warrior, and are listed below.
- Battle Stance: This is the most balanced of the three.
- Defensive Stance: Great for taking damage.
- Berserker Stance: This is made specifically for offense in that it’ll allow you to cause huge amounts of damage.
The next section of the WoW Warrior guide will get into Arms, Fury and Protection, the 3 type of talent build.
Arms: Talents
- Deep Wounds: Fantastic for inflicting damage.
- Taste for Blood, Improved Overpower, and Unrelenting Assault: Particularly good for Melee.
- Sudden Death: This in combination with Mortal Strike give you the ability to inflict massive wounds on your enemy in just 2 seconds.
- Trauma: Increases your output.
Fury: Talents
This one’s very gear dependent and shouldn’t be used for group play or raids. But it’s good for inflicting quick damage. Here’re some talents:
- Cruelty, Armored to the Teeth: This is an essential talent.
- Enrage: Fantastic for both solo and leveling.
- Flurry
- Bloodthirst: If you do play a raid then this will help keep you alive by helping you inflict massive damage and heals quickly.
- Titans Grip: Wield two handed weapons, Whirlwinds and Slams
The Protection build is particularly good for defensive play. Here’s a list of talents.
- Incite
- Warbringer: Makes the Warrior basically unstoppable in PvP.
- Gag Order: Another excellent talent for PvP.
Gearing up right is beyond the scope of this WoW Warrior guide, just be aware of the fact that Warriors are very gear dependent and it’s important to gear up right.
