Wii Sports Resort Claims Top Spot for 15th Week

Yet another piece of video game news coming your way now. GfK Chart Track has released another weeks gaming rankings and it appears that Wii Sports Resort have managed to climb back onto the top spot despite the release of the very popular Wolfenstein game.

Wii Sports Resort was previously number 1 on all formats until it was knocked off by Ashes Cricket 2009 for two weeks, however, now it has managed to yet again take top spot. Reclaiming this sport now means the title has been at the top for 15 weeks since it’s release earlier this year.

Unfortunately for Activision, their recent release, Wolfenstein wasn’t able to get the number 1 overall formats place. With 2000 less sales that Wii Sports Resort, it only managed to get number one of Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC charts, not too bad.

Although Activision are a little disappointed that they didn’t claim the top spot, they should still be happy with second place, plus still having Call of Duty: World at War and Prototype still within the top 10 sellers.

However, both Activision and Nintendo might have some stiff competition in the upcoming few weeks with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum. Batman: Arkham Asylum has already proven very popular within the pre-order charts, also, with the demo being released less than a month ago, sites that do video game reviews have been eager to get this game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the new Batman game jump right to the top spot.

Here are the top 20 games in the all format charts by Chart Track, all of which have been given brilliant video game ratings.
