Leveling in Warcraft
With the release of The Wrath of the Lich King the number of levels in WoW is now 80, and they vary depending on your character. Questing is still one of the fastest and best leveling methods. You’ll get more powerful as you level up using questing.
To compare a quest to your current level just refer to its color coding. Remember the harder the quest, the bigger the benefit you get. Quest Color Codes:
- Gray- These are trivial and you should just skip them.
- Green- Easy
- Yellow- Normal
- Orange- Hard
- Red- Very Hard

Having a WoW leveling guide is the best and fastest way to quest. But whatever you do stick to one region completing as many quests as you can until they either become too difficult or you can’t find groups to complete. Then you can move on to other regions.
Although there’re a lot of quests to choose from don’t try to do them all. Doing this is probably less than optimal. Quest a region until only gray and green coded quests remain. At this point it would be better for both your leveling and experience points to move on to harder quests.
Some quests are class specific, so make sure you’re doing quests that are for your class.
Following the right quest order will prevent you from bouncing around between quests and allow you to level faster. With in-game guides you won’t need to leave the game to get strategies and tips.
