Can You Use the Tatsunoko Vs Capcom Wii Joy Pad for Any Other Wii Games?

I wanted to get Tatsunoko Vs Capcom but wanted to know if the joy pad could be used for other games like VC games and such on the Wii.

Edit: Ok So It's basically a reformed Classic Controller. In that Case It should work with all the games on Virtual Console Just fine.

edit: Well damn…. Tatsunoko Vs Capcom is a very fun game. I bought it and I play it with my friends all the time. Online play is great also
