Can You Play Rock Band 2 for Wii Without Microphone?

we rented rock band 2 for our wii and every time my sons try to play anything it says you need a microphone. Does this mean you can't play it unless you do the vocals with a microphone?

Suggestion:

well ull need either the microphone, guitar, or drumset. if u dont have any of them it wont let u play. so id recomend just buy a cheap mic
