How to Fix a Nintendo Wii?

There is something wrong with my wii, it has been going on for a few months, my wii works but it will not read a disk. My little brother was using my wii for a while (about a year) and left it on for months at a weeks at a time. I would like to know from anyone who has experienced this problem, how to fix it and if I have to pay to get it fixed. Thank You!
