Suggestion:
To clear information from the Wii Shop Channel, including records of your transactions and rights to download software:
Go to the Wii Shop Channel.
Select "Settings" from the list of options.
Select "Remove Wii Shop Channel Account."
Once completed, all information will be erased.
Note: It is recommended by Nintendo to format the Wii System Memory BEFORE selling your Wii away. This procedure will erase all information on your Wii and will restore it to factory defaults.
After a format, if you reboot your Wii it will ask you for which language to use etc. so it will just like if it is started up the first time. You don't need to pass this first-time setup, it's up to the new owner and it's the best leave him/her to customize their Wii.
Of course you can power off your Wii at the language selector screen without passing it. Next time you or the new owner turns on the Wii, then it will ask you to do the setup.
The new owner of your Wii will be able to start over, I mean he or she will be able to create their OWN shop channel account and he or she won't even know what information did you have on your Wii.
You can find this option at the last page at the console settings.
Also this procedure is secure, and it makes sure NO of sensitive data is left on your Wii.
