It comes with a controller and a nunchuck.
What is the nunchuck for? Do I need to buy another controller to play games in pairs?
Suggestion:
The nunchuck fits into the remote and it is used on lots of different games but some games only use the remote.
On Mario Kart the nunchuk is used to steer and it's used on other games for a variety of things.
If your going to be playing games with a friend of family then I suggest you buy another remote and nunchuk.
I would also suggest that you get a battery charger and 4 rechargeable AA batteries, this will save you money in the long run.
Duracell batteries last for ages in between charges and if you buy ones that have a high number on them then they will last for years.
Mine are 2450 mAh.
Had them for over three years and still going strong.

You need as many controllers as you have people.
The nunchucks aren't needed for all of the games, but you need it for many on Wii sports. I recommend you buy enough to match the main remotes. You will need them for future games, and it's much easier to be able to play with multiple people.
The games will tell you when to plug the nunchucks into the remotes, and you can read instructions on how they are used. It is definitely something you will want to have, most good games require them.
